Lifestyle

Most of our residents are just a few steps away from the active Florida lifestyle most people dream about. Inside the community, golfers tee it up on the course and at the driving range of Timacuan Golf and Country Club – a semi-private 18-hole course with dining facilities. (click here to visit their website).

Non-golfers can find action less than half a mile away out our back gate at the Lake Mary Sports Complex with its batting cages, ball fields, skatepark, tot lot, basketball courts, soccer fields and tennis facilities. Trailblazer Park, a state of the art playground and splash park, is also located in this complex.  If that isn’t enough, a branch of the Seminole Wekiva Trail crosses our front door at Rinehart Road, giving bikers, joggers, skaters and walkers access to more than 14 miles of paved Seminole trails to explore. The portion of the trail along Rinehart Road is 2.3. miles in length and provides a pleasantly landscaped environment for running, walking and biking complete with rest areas, exercise stations and drinking fountains. Click here to visit the Trails website.

Several clubs within the neighborhood offer a social and service outlet for our residents.  PACT, (Parents and Children of Timacuan) organizes monthly playgroups and family-friendly parties and holiday-themed events. They also squeeze in the occasional “adult only” outings.  The Trailblazers is a citizen-based volunteer group that works hand in hand with the city to provide local residents with amenities such as the 2.3 mile trail along Rinehart Road and the playground and splash park at the Sports Complex. We also have active members of the Red Hat Society, Seminole Spokes (a newcomers organization) and the Lake Mary Seniors group which offers card games and other activities. Visit the clubs and groups section of the website for more details.

Schools

Timacuan is proudly located in Seminole County which consistently offers top performing schools in the state. Our students are zoned to attend Seminole High School, home to the county’s IB and Health Academy magnet programs. Seminole High was recently featured in Newsweek magazine among America’s Best High Schools. Sixth through eight-graders attend Millennium Middle, where students may opt to participate in the pre-IB or Fine Arts magnet program. Our elementary age students may choose among five excellent schools in the Northwest Cluster, including Crystal Lakes Elementary, which opened in August of 2006 on Rinehart Road.
