Trash & Recycle Services
Trash and recycle pickup is handled by Waste Management under contract to the City of Lake Mary. Waste management uses rolling containers that are picked up by an automated arm attached to the truck for both trash and recycled materials. The green trash container should have been left for you by the previous owner, along with a yellow-topped recycle container. If they were not, please contact the City of Lake Mary at 407-585-1448 to arrange for delivery of new containers.
Waste materials are picked up on a specific schedule, so it is important that you put the correct type of trash out on the appropriate day, otherwise it will not be collected. Your trash pickup days are Monday and Thursday. Wednesday is for yard waste only.
-
Wednesday: This is Timacuan's primary pickup day for most waste materials.
- Automated trash and recycled materials
. trash must fit in the green container, and should be out no later than 6 a.m. Place the container at the end of your driveway with the handle facing away from the street. Recycle containers should be placed at least 3 feet' away from the trash container, to allow the automated arm sufficient clearance. For information on what you can recycle click here.
-
Yard waste. Branches or fronds must be no longer than 4’ in length and tied. All other yard waste should be bagged or placed in a container. Do not use the green trash container for yard waste as yard waste trucks do not use the automated arm.
Thursday: This is the day you put out all those empty moving boxes and other large objects. Large objects must be light enough to be lifted by two men.
Do not leave trash or containers out between trash pickups. As required by our covenants and the city, green containers and recycle bins must be stored out of sight in your garage. If you have complied with the above requirements and your trash is not picked up, call the City of Lake Mary at 407-585-1448.
Note: There is no trash or recycled material pickup on the following holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. On holidays without collection, residents will have a make-up day, which is posted on the city website at www.lakemaryfl.com.

Lawn & Pool Maintenance Services
To find a lawn or pool maintenance service, check with your neighbors or look in the classified section of the website under “Resident Approved Service Providers”. The listings in this section are based on recommendations from Timacuan residents who have used the companies and are satisfied with them.
Gate Cards
There is a back gate in and out of our community which is a convenient route to use when you are going to Country Club Road or further east on Lake Mary Blvd. The gate is closed 24/7 to prevent non-resident commuters from using Timacuan’s streets as a shortcut. Residents who wish to use this gate can obtain a gate card or a remote clicker for access. There is a one-time fee of $45 (card) or $90 (remote clicker). Cards and clickers are canceled when a resident moves, so do not purchase cards or clickers from your seller. Please click here for an application form and full details on how to apply or call the property office at 407-327-5824 x12.
Changes to your Home
To maintain the overall appearance and property values in Timacuan, prior approval is required by the association's Architectural Review Board (ARC), for any exterior changes to your new residence. These include painting (even if same color), additions, major landscaping changes and so on. If you are considering exterior changes, click here for detailed requirements and an application form.
Parking
For both aesthetics and safety (children playing, emergency vehicle access) vehicles should always be parked in your garage or driveway. Street parking is limited by our covenants to 2 hours during the day except for visitors, who may park for up to 6 hours if there is no space in the driveway. Overnight parking is generally not permitted, and vehicles with commercial markings must always be parked out of sight unless the markings are covered with a magnetic cover of the same color as the vehicle.
Garage Sales
In order to minimize non-resident traffic driving through our community, the association sponsors two community garage sales a year, usually in April and October. Sales at other times are prohibited by our covenants, except for moving and estate sales, which must have the prior approval of the Architectural Review Board.
Home Businesses
Residents who operate businesses out of their home must obtain both City and County home occupation permits. Residential permits restrict use of the home to businesses that require no warehousing, no outside employees and no clients or customers coming to the property.
A two week waiting period is required for new permits, during which time a sign is posted in the yard and residents in the immediate neighborhood are notified (by letter from the city) that an application has been filed. More information and a form for the city permit is available under Resident Services > Forms and Requests, or by clicking here. The application can be filled out online and printed for mailing.
